The K5000 does not use a buffer area so in order to audition Combis, Multis, or Patches, it is necessary to overwrite one of each type. The K5000 uses dynamic memory allocation. When auditioning patches from a patch bank, if there is insufficient memory to receive the patch, it will NOT audition!! * Warning! The K5000 uses dynamic memory allocation. It is possible to create a bank of patches that require more memory than is available in the instrument. In this case, the instrument will STOP receiving patches. * Additionally, there is no command to clear the K5000's memory so if you are sending a new Patch Bank to the instrument under the following conditions: a) memory is almost full b) the new patches being sent to the instrument are larger than the patches currently stored in the instrument at the same locations you will need to manually delete some of the patches in order for the instrument to properly receive the new bank.
